The Red Dragon will appear at the end of the tunnel and position itself over the soldiers. The Dragon will send a terrifying screech and will come at you breathing fire, killing all the Enemies at the bridge. Now the Dragon stays at the bridge, making it incredibly difficult to pass.

Sony, presumably, owns the intellectual property, and until very recently, hasn’t released any of its games on PC. With a strength requirement of 30 and B damage scaling in that stat, it’s an excellent mid-to-late game weapon for Strength builds. Ironically enough, it’s not all that useful against the Dragon God due to the puzzle-like design of the fight. The Crescent Falchion isn’t well-suited for all builds, but it’s a must-have for anyone focusing on magic. The weapon scales very well with your Magic stat, and it allows you to passively regenerate mana while it is equipped. This extra ability is great if you are looking to use spells often either to get through an area or take down a difficult boss weak to magic damage.

For those who haven’t played Demon’s Souls since 2009, or even those who haven’t played the remake since its 2020 launch, there’s plenty of value in delving back into Boletaria. After playing something like Elden Ring, it’s fascinating to revisit modern FromSoftware’s roots, seeing the impetus for its one-of-a-kind design philosophy with the benefit of hindsight. For anyone interested in gaming history, Demon’s Souls is required reading, and a single playthrough isn’t enough to extract all its mechanical depth. Moreover, it’s novel and almost surreal to see what FromSoftware cooked up in 2009, and how its approach to game-making has evolved since then. Priests start with a mace which is good, but what is even better is the Blessed Mace.

Right now, that’s the only platform to expect Demon’s Souls on–although there was a brief moment when it looked like we might get Demon’s Souls on PC as well. 777X revealed during a recent PS5 game showcase listed the game for both PS5 and PC, but Sony corrected the record. That might mean a PC version is in the offing sometime in the future, but on November 12, you’ll need a PS5 to play the remake. But developer Bluepoint’s greatest achievement is that it took something I’m intimately familiar with and made me feel like I was venturing into the unknown. Moore also confirmed that the game’s memorable Old Monk fight, in which a player is summoned to fight as the boss in another player’s game, will be as players remember it in the remake too. As some fans discovered via a recent leak, Demon’s Souls musical score is also getting an overhaul.

The recommended path to complete Demon’s Souls and unlock all possible paths is outlined below. Players will likely want to adjust their progress based on their chosen Builds, but this is a good outline for recommended progression. If you feel you have messed up your character, you can try to reduce your soul level to correct your build. I’ve always kind of been lukewarm on Souls multiplayer, and Demon’s Souls is no exception.

It is all around just a magnificent showcase of the power of the PlayStation 5 and an enticing taste and what’s to come if things can look this good on a launch game. What’s clever about this is that Demon’s Souls’ structure makes every playthrough feel different because you’re able to approach each world in new ways. For my first playthrough, I went with a magic-focused build and went to world 3 first so I could stock up on magic-replenishing consumables and unlock the NPC that grants access to the most powerful spells.

Now you can collect all the items at the bridge, without worrying about the dragon. At your left there are two Enemies, try to lure one enemy at a time. Once both are dead, turn to the staircase and start going up. Keep going forward for the only way available, two Boletaria Soldiers will emerge from the building to the left, deal with them as fast as you can.
